Are You Hoping for More Clients?

Over the past few weeks, I've been approached by a number of coaches who tell me that they're 'hoping' that their coaching practice will turn around before the end of the year. They are 'hoping' to attract more clients. Upon probing further to find their action plan to achieve their ambitions I was often greeted with a long silence.

You see, hoping for more clients is all well and good but hope on its own is simply not enough. Hope is not a strategy! You need a strategy as well as hope to attract more clients into your coaching practice.

A challenge in the field of coaching and personal development can be an over-reliance on positive thinking and continuously looking at the world through rose-coloured spectacles. Hey, positive thinking is fine but if it's not combined with positive action it will be rendered useless.

As a coach I'm sure you are aware of the vital importance of the action phase in the achievement process. Without the action steps, nothing much else in the external world changes right? Are you walking your talk on this for your own coaching practice too?

How to Get Your Coaching Fees Teleclass

Are you unsure about how to charge for your coaching services? Maybe you feel uncomfortable discussing this topic with prospective clients. Well, on Wednesday, 26th October at 8pm (3pm EST and 12noon PST), I will be delivering an informative teleclass on how you can actually get the fees you set in your coaching practice.

To get your complimentary place on the teleclass, just send a blank e-mail.

> Some things to think about...

Here are some things to consider from the points raised above:

1. Vision - What is your own vision for the coaching practice you are building? What exactly does it look like? Get crystal clear on this and the rest of the process becomes much easier.

2. Passion - Are you really passionate about the vision for the coaching practice that you see? Are you emotionally involved in your vision?

3. Strategy - What strategies are you going to use to help you to achieve the vision you have for your coaching practice? Do you know how you are going to go about achieving your vision?

2. Action - What actions have you identified that you can follow through on to help you to realise your vision? Preferably break down your actions into easy and manageable steps you can take and monitor on a consistent basis.

Without consistent action, your grand visions and hopes will remain in your mind.

P.S. Thank you to the readers who contacted me regarding last week's issue of the newsletter. I was in two minds as to whether to send out the edition with such a risqué title - but it sure gave a lot of readers a laugh including me :-) It's good to 'stretch the envelope' once in a while and observe the response.

So, are you hoping to attract more clients?

With very best wishes,

Shaun
