Better Than Brochures...

I often have coaches approach me to have a look at their brochure and business card and provide feedback. The sad fact is that many coaching brochures and business cards end up in the bin of the recipient - sometimes the same day that they are received.

Did you know that there is an even more powerful tool that you can use to attract clients into your coaching practice? Do you know what it is? A book.

Now before you fall off your chair at the suggestion that you (yes you!) could possibly write a book please note that it is possible for most people - including you.

The great thing about writing a book is that it will give you an instant boost in credibility and you will be perceived as knowing a lot about your subject. Also, the process of writing a book will help you to refine and expand your knowledge of your particular area.

Your book will seldom get thrown in the bin unlike your brochure or business card (unless it's really bad of course!). In fact, it will often get to the top of the pile of mail and then placed on the bookshelf of the recipient. This is especially the case if you are sending your book to someone in the corporate world via a gatekeeper.

A Book Writing Method

At the conference in Chicago, I attended a presentation by Elsom Eldridge who is known as the Consultant's Consultant. He delivered a great talk that included an amazingly simple method for writing a book and here's a quick outline I'd like to share with you:

1. Problems & Solutions - Identify the 12 biggest problems that people in your target market experience. Consider the 12 solutions that they most want to have. Describe the problems and solutions in vivid detail.

2. Special Report - Write a special report (around 16-32 pages) on each problem-solution pair and these will form the basis of your book chapters. You can send out your special reports to potential clients to develop your credibility before your book is published.

3. Book - Once you have written your 12 special reports you will have the material required for a substantial and informative book of 12 chapters.

During the talk he also shared how to use articles, newsletters, networking, PR and presentations to build a successful practice. The presentation was really a summary of the contents of his latest book...

How to Position Yourself as the Obvious Expert

I purchased the latest book by Elsom Eldridge and was absolutely floored by the quality of the content. He obtained contributions from over 150 worldwide experts (e.g. Ken Blanchard, Jay Conrad Levinson, C. J. Hayden, etc) and that's what makes the book so valuable. It was such an enjoyable and fun read too as he included some 'War Stories' that I could relate to and laugh at.

To learn literally thousands of techniques that you can use to improve the marketing of your practice then just visit The Obvious Expert and get your copy of the ebook. You'll be able to download it instantly and benefit from the experience of worldwide experts.

So, what do you have that's better than brochures?

With very best wishes,

P.S. Remember that you can download The Obvious Expert and if you're not happy with the quality of the content you can get a refund within the first 90 days. So you've got nothing to lose - get it today and begin to attract more coaching clients into your practice.
