Bridging
the Credibility Gap
Are
you credible as a coach?
Do
bear in mind that your prospective clients will be asking themselves
this very question before deciding if they will seriously listen
to you any further, let alone make the decision to work with
you.
So
what do you have to add to your own credibility rating? Maybe...
- Your coaching qualification
-
Real experience
-
Previous education.
Anything
else?
Now as a coach I'm sure you have your own views on the importance
of the above points (or lack thereof!)... and so do your potential
clients. And in their world, their views count more than your
own.
Unfortunately,
a number of coaches don't feel confident or credible themselves
in their new career as a coach. This isn't exactly a formula
for client attraction is it?
Do
you want to know one of the very best credibility boosters you
can have in the eyes of just about any prospect?
A
book.
Yes
you and yes a book :-)
Reasons
to Consider Writing a Book
Here
are just some reasons why you may want to consider writing a
book as part of your client attraction efforts:
1.
Instant Credibility - Nothing much else gives you
a stamp of authority more quickly than a book can. Have you
ever found yourself treating someone differently once you
found out they were an author?
Note
that the word authority and author come from the same root
(from the Latin verb augere - to create).
2.
Differentiation - The number of coaches in practice
continues to increase so you have more and more competition.
How are you dealing with that?
One
way is to write a book so that you can differentiate yourself
from a lot of coaches out there. How many coaches are there?
How many coaches who are authors are there?
3.
Open More Doors - If you take the time and effort
to write a book you'll find that a lot of other opportunities
will open up for you. For example, you may find it easier
to gain exposure in the media as again being an author implies
a certain level of credibility.
4.
Easier Client Attraction - You can use your book
as a tool to work for you to attract more clients into your
coaching practice. Prospective clients who come to you via
your book are more likely to be pre-sold on working with you
than those who come from other sources.
5.
Boost revenues - Having a book can also boost the
revenues of your coaching practice - if you approach things
correctly.
Last
year I worked with a publishing mentor named John Eggen. In
case you haven't heard of him before, his clients include best
selling authors such as Brian Tracy and Mark Victor Hansen.
John
Eggen is a
publishing expert with over 24 years publishing experience and
he's running a completely complimentary teleseminar on “How
to Create a Book that Attracts New Clients" on
Monday, 28th August.
If
you would like to attend the complementary teleseminar and learn
how to have a book to attract clients then just complete your

So,
how are you dealing with the credibility gap?

wishes,
