The Authentic Practice Newsletter provides invaluable information that you can use in your coaching practice to get more clients and contains absolutely no fluff. To recommend this newsletter to your coaching colleagues please use the tell-a-coach form.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Hi,

You may remember that last week's newsletter was about the importance of having client-centred promotional materials. If you missed last week's edition, then not to worry, you can get it here.

Well, over the past week I've had the opportunity to review the websites and brochures of a number of coaches who are subscribers to this newsletter. It really reinforced the need for a real change in the focus of promotional materials away from the service provider and onto the purchaser of the service.

After a while, the brochures I reviewed began to blend into one another without much real distinctiveness. In fact, some reminded me of the very first brochure I used to promote my coaching practice in the year 2000. I thought that I'd review it here so that you can have a laugh at my expense. I've also conducted a review of the homepage of my current website so you can hopefully see the difference.

Thanks If You Answered the Questionnaire

I'd like to thank all of the subscribers who completed the questionnaire from the newsletter last week. So far, 44 subscribers have filled-in the questionnaire. However, I've only received requests for feedback on websites/brochures from 14 subscribers to date. If you completed the questionnaire and would like me to review your materials then you need to send me an e-mail with details.

> Video Review Of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

I've decided to try something new in this week's newsletter so I hope it works out OK for you. Please be patient if the technology creates a challenge and wait for the video to appear on your screen. Also, make sure you've got your speakers on as there's sound too!

I've produced a video review of my brochure from the year 2000 using a neat piece of software known as Camtasia Studio. Then in the second half of the video I've done a quick review of my homepage so you can see the difference between provider-centred and client-centred materials.

Just visit the link if you want to stream it using Windows Media Player. It's 14 minutes, 27 seconds in length and 8.07MB in size.

So, are your materials in the good, the bad or the ugly?

With very best wishes,
